Japan-Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement (JTEPA) was revised to cover “IoT” and “AI”

Thailand and Japan will revise the Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA) of both countries to cover the “IoT” and “AI” fields.

By revising the agreement, investment to Thailand will be more active, including support for establishing the IoT Center in Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) in Thailand.

In addition, Japan mentioned that they would develop Thailand as the gateway to investment from Japan into Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam. Thailand will have a strong presence as a central country to enter the ASEAN countries.

Given the current speed of technological progress, the similar agreements we have made in the past may be reviewed in various places in the future.
With this kind of thing as a trigger, investment centering on IoT and AI will increase steadily and I hope that the realization of a smart society in ASEAN countries will be accelerated.
